Diary Part II

19th June 2010

Although 40 minutes before kick-off the pitches had still yet to be marked, a superb effort from all volunteers involved meant the inaugural Walk1000 5 a-side Football Tournament was a great success. Congratulations go to winners Selwyn (right, playing against Harpenden Rovers F.C.) who fought off Beerzil 4-3 in the final, with a big thank you going to all who participated in helping us raise over £400.

8th June 2010

Thank you to all who participated in our pub quiz – by now you should all know that Canada has the longest coastline, La Giaconda is otherwise known as the Mona Lisa and it only took Andi Rivett 9 days and 2 hours to run Land’s End to John O’Groats! Special thanks go to Matt, Chris, Courtney and Massimo at the Verulam Arms with a congratulations going to our quiz champions The Turkish Delights (left)

23rd May 2010

Thank you to all those who came down to see us make fools of ourselves with our “Human Fruit Machine” at the Harpenden Carnival, with a special thanks going to Rick for helping us with the costumes. We made £109 from the day and if you didn’t get to see us in action the photo makes a good substitute…

14th -15th May 2010

Despite only having 4 players between the hours of 03:00 and 07:00, we battled on to ensure squash (or racket ball) was played for the full 24 hours in the Walk1000 Squash-a-thon. Thank you to all those who played and helped us raise over £500, with a special thanks going to Sian for playing for most of the 24 hours, raising over £250 and providing refreshments.
